Well, last weekend filming for Johnny Depp's new film, The Rum Diary, started San Juan, Puerto Rico and of course there are already so many great pictures around. Let me tell you that one thing is sure: Johnny's looking good! Tannes, smiling, nicely dressed, he has got the look (although some people mutter they combed his hair in a weird way.) I have 10 days off now because today was the last day of school and we have Easter holidays now! *yay* *bouncy*
Now, this will be my last post for a week, because in three hours I'll be sitting on some train on my 8 hour-long way to Germany, because I'll spend the next 7 days with my grandparents from there. My sister will be with me on the train, she's visiting our cousin and it happens that we have to take the same one. It's cool, because it's a long way and an over-night train, so, a very slow one, and If I was alone it could easily become boring but now I can talk to someone. Will arrive there early tomorrow morning and can't wat! I'm sure we'll have a lovely time.
I'll be back home on Saturday morning next week.

Happy 61st Birthday, Steven Tyler!!!

Right you lot! Today's a very special day, 'cause today we (meaning all us Aeroheads) celebrate the life of the one and only Mr. Steven Tyler! And, as you may have guessed from the headline of this bit, I'd like to dedicate today's little post to the Deamon of Screamin' himself!!

The Bad Boys from Boston's frontman was born Steven Victor Tallarico on March 26, 1948 in Yonkers, New York. He is of Italian, German, Ukrainian and Cherokee descent and in 1996 he attended a local rock concert in Sunapee, New Hampshire where he first met future bandmembers Joe Perry (guitar) and Tom Hamilton (bass). Aerosmith was born and Steven Tyler, with his insanely sexy looks, his screamer voice and his trademark sign of colourful scarves dangling from his microphone stand all the time and any place, was to become one of the greatest frontman in rock history ever.

Last year, Rolling Stone magazine voted him #99 of the 100 best singers ever. Considering there are so many other brilliant ones out there, and considering so many people - not me, of course -think Tyler can't sing, this is pretty cool.

So let's raise a glass to the f*cking greatest and most acrobatic rock singer in the world. I wish him all the best and lots of love and I am VERY confident the new Aerosmith album, which is in the works right now, AND the upcoming tour following its release, will be - literally - the ultimate Screamer!!!

Yesterday 24 years ago, on March 18 1985, Theodora was born first daughter to Rolling Stones guitarist Keith Richards and topmodel Patti Hansen in London, England.

As Theo is probably my favourite model of all my favourites *gg*, I'd just like to wish her a very Happy belated Birthday!!

Too bad I couldn't be online yesterday to post this in time, however, I hope her birthday was rockin' and she had a great party! I'm sure she did!

I wish her all the best & much love for the year to come and hope she will achieve whatever it is she'd like to succeed in.

Anticipating Summer - We get by with a little help from Theo!

First and foremost, I admit I haven't posted in ages. So much has been happening in the past few weeks and in the end I'm afraid I simply forgot.

Meanwhile, I had my first exams of this term, I was skiing in Salzburg with my dad and sister for a weekend (It was lovely!! Wonderful weather: sunny, warm, fresh snow! and lots of nice people!!) and last weekend when I went to the movies to see "Yes Man" my handbag was stolen during the film. I discovered it when we wanted to leave and it was a bugger! All my passes, my cellphone and my money were in there. Went to the police the next day so that I can get my passes back for free, though.

Well, we have March now. The sun's getting warmer on your skin, the snow is almost entirely gone and t's raining a lot - around here, that is. So, now that we're approaching spring time everything's waking up. So am I. I just adore warm weather, spring and summer and I have been dying to go to the beach or to the pool again, getting sun-tanned and all the other amazing things like this.

Since summer is still so far away, however, there's nothing left to do than staring at pictures of the ocean and a beach with lotrs of palm trees and imagining you were there.

Now, how good that my favourite model Theodora Richards is helping me along with that (and looking good!)

She's recently been spotted on a beach down in Miami, enjoying the day with her younger sister Alexandra.

The article that featured these pictures (Daily Mail - March 10) accused Theo of being much too thin with "jutting hip bones and skinny shoulders" and a "shrinking figure"! Hello? She's such a tiny girl and she doesn't look unhealthy at all! It's just her natural frame, the way her body is built (what an awesome body!!!). I think she's so beautiful! I love her so much!!

Note how Theo and Alex' bikinis even match a little, that's so cute.

Hope you enjoy these pictures and that they bring a feeling of summer closer to you as well.

Even when Theo's wearing only a bikini, her style is the best!! So effortlessly cool. Tres chic!

Uschi Obermaier

Uschi Obermaier was an actress, photomodel, protagonist of the 1968 left-wing movement in Germany and is regarded as an iconic sex-symbol of the 1968 generation in Europe. She was born in Munich on September 24th, 1946 and was discovered by TWEN magazine. Thin and petite just like Twiggi, she represented a new type of model. Obermaier moved from Munich to the Berlin-based Kommune 1 after she had become Rainer Langhans' girlfriend. Langhans and Obermaier freely talked to the media about their relationship, becoming symbols of the sexual revolution.
Uschi is considered one of the first and best known German groupies of the 60s (she's had affairs with Mick Jagger and Keith Richards of the Rolling Stones as well as Jimi Hendrix - it even went so far that Keith and Uschi ended up falling really in love and he is said to even have considered leaving his common-law wife Anita Pallenberg for Uschi).
In 1973, Uschi Obermaier fell in love with Dieter Bockhorn, the wealthy owner of a club in Hamburg's Reeperbahn red-light district (she now was in love with two men at the same time, Dieter and Keith, and was always torn between the more personally fulfilling relationship with Dieter and the exciting and very sexual life with Richards). Together, Bockhorn and Obermaier traveled the world in a customized bus, first spending three years in Asia, then going to Mexico and the US for another three years. In an Interview (Galore, Issue 25) Obermaier marked reports that she and Bockhorn had a traditional wedding in every country they traveled in as completely fictitious. They only married once, in India. After ten years their relationship ended abruptly. On New Year's Eve 1983, Dieter Bockhorn died in a motorcycle accident in Mexico. About a week earlier she had met Keith Richards at the beach they were staying at in Baja - the first time since she had eventually left and abandoned him crashed out in a Chicago hotel room 8 years earlier, in 1975, after Bockhorn had called to invite her to join him on his trip to Asia. Richards had come to Mexico to get married to Patti Hansen. Uschi would later say "in that single week in Mexico I have irrevocably lost the two most important men in my life."
By then, Uschi Obermaier had been granted American citizenship. Today, she lives in Topanga Canyon near Los Angeles, working as a jewellery designer.
Her life has been depicted in a biopic called Das Wilde Leben (the english title is Eight Miles High), based on the bestselling book High Times: Mein Wildes Leben, an authorized biography of Obermaier's life, written by Olaf Kraemer, who also wrote the screenplay to Eight Miles High.

The movie, in which German actress Natalia Avelon portrays Uschi, was directed by Achim Bornhak and was released in February 2007.

Sophomore S/S 2009 ad campaign

This are the pics from the look book of Sophomore NYC's ad campaign for their Spring/Summer 2009 collection.

It features It-girls/models Cory Kennedy, Alexandra Richards, Harley Viera Newton and Lizzie Trullie and was shot by Cass Bird.

The ads have a very youthful and playful touch to them which I think is down to the fact that the photographer shot the campaign while the girls were simply hanging about a Manhattan pool, enjoying themselves.

And I enjoy looking at the photos just as much as the models seem to having had a good time together. I hope you do, too.

Inspiration: Pinks & Ice

There's a lot of inspiration out there in the world and new inspiration comes with every minute, day and month. And with every season.

I like to capture inspirational things not only with my mind and memory, but also with the camera, because I love to look through my albums and, in this way, "re-discover" the objects I once was - or still am - lusting for, the images that mean something to me just because each of them tells a different and a very unique story on their own. It's a way of expressing yourself and you can turn each of those photographs into something completely new and exciting, even years later.

Now, in deepest winter, I have detected the wonderful little games the icicles play all the time outside, in the garden, in the front of the house, in the woods. And the entity the ice forms is something so beautiful and irrevocably one-of-a-kind, because they're there at the moment for that very instant, for that very day, and If you go outside the next day to have a look at this beauty again you will find that the formation has changed. Some bits have melted away, sunk in and new ones were attached over the night. It's a completely new structure that stands on it's own, like the one the day before did. It's a different, yet even more so vrilliant invention of nature.

With the cold and snowy weather outside, we had decided to bring some warmth and spring inside, so there's a bunch of pinks on the table. I find flowers very interesting and inspirational, so of course I had to take one or the other photo, playing around with shadows:

Went to the movies with my sis and some friend today and we watched a German comedy which was really quite funny. Afterwards we spent an hour playing pool. Lots of fun tonight!

A controversial campaign...

There has been plenty of juicy gossip surrounding fashion designers this week – from Jason Wu's supposed outing by the New York Times to rumors that Oliver Theyskens might be in the market for a new job. But the steamiest news to come out of the fashion world concerns a certain commercial put out by a prominent jeans company.

While the name Calvin Klein is synonymous with its own unique brand of cool, clean minimalism, it has also taken on connotations of raw and sometimes controversial sensuality. Who could forget the iconic images of Natalia Vodianova on a dark rocky beach, her lips hovering tantalizingly over a half-naked Jamie Dornan? The new commercial and ad campaign, shot by Steven Meisel, features some of this season's hottest young models stretched out on a sofa wearing nothing but the brand's signature denim, with their long limbs entangled indiscriminately and expressions of utter euphoria on their faces.

The grainy quality of the video and the basement-like setting only adds to a sense of voyeurism on the part of the viewer. The commercial has been deemed so risqué, in fact, that it has been banned from even late night television. While Calvin Klein has often come under fire for its provocative images and in-your-face sex appeal, the brand has remained true to its identity as creative pioneer, a pusher of envelopes and a classic American label that is not afraid of challenging America's traditionally conservative social norms.

The Curious Case Of Benjamin Button

Last night I went to a nice night out with a friend of mine. We had dinner at an Asian restaurant - Running Sushi! - and afterwards we went to the movies to see The Curious Case Of Benjamin Button which was released here this past Friday.

We both liked the movie a lot! It was very well made in every aspect. Very well directed, shot, the soundtrack was good. It's a dramatic movie, but it's also quite funny and unexpected in a way.

But what struck me most was the actors' performances! Espacially the two leading roles, Benjamin Button and Daisy Fuller, portrayed by Brad Pitt and Cate Blanchett.

I wouldn't be surprised If Brad got his Oscar for this one! His palying here is awesome and comes across very convincing and believing. Very serious, yet witty.

And Cate was gorgeous, too! Not only did she play wonderful, she looked great, too, with the red hair and gracious dance moves!

I think I'll go see this movie a second time! It's great and I highly recommend it to everyone!

Other than that, we've tons of snow over here. We got even more last night so, this morning we all went outside to build snowmen and to sled. It was lots of fun!

R.I.P Billy Powell

Billy Powell, pianist/keyboardist of 70s US rock super group Lynyrd Skynyrd died from heart failure on tuesday, aged only 56.

He was one of the two band members who survived the plain crash in 1977 in which the other 3 members had died.

The band's greatest hits include "Sweet Home Alabama" and the legendary "Free Bird". In 2006, they were inducted into the Rock'n'Roll Hall Of Fame.

Powell had had health issues for some time and called up the ambulance on tuesday, but when they had arrived they found him dead on the floor.

My sincere condolences to his wife and his four children.

You will be missed!

What Should I Wear by Mango S/S 2008 campaign

Last year, models Alexandra Richards (Keith Richards' youngest daughter) and Eugenia Silver were the faces of MANGO's What Should I Wear by Mango Spring/Summer 2008 collection. There were 8 videos in total, 4 of which featuring Alex, while Eugenia appeared in the others.
Alexandra being one of my favourite models, I've always enjoyed watching her in these adds a lot. She looks so cute and has such a sexy voice (and I like the music playing in the background, too! *lol*) and at some moments you can really see how much she DOES resemble her mother, 70s' supermodel Patti Hansen, whom I love as well. I love the whole Richards family!!

Well, it's been snowing non-stop all day! I'm a little sad about that, cause I don't like snow when I'm not skiing. Yesterday it was so nice and sunny and rather warm outside and today it's grey and dull and cold and wet. *sigh*

I had to talk a lot out on the streets today and just came back home from my guitar tuition about 2 hours ago and I'm still feeling soaking wet. I immediately had to get rid of my clothes, otherwise they'd have drenched the whole floor! I really hope it'll stop snowing tomorrow. I want spring! I want summer!

Thinkin' 'bout what to wear tomorrow. I'm afraid I'll have to dig up my old winter coat and put the new boots on. *gg*

GENE POOL: Rock 'n' roll progeny Alexandra Richards and Ben Taylor are the new faces of Lucky Brand jeans - but don't look for them in any print ads this spring. In a telling omen of the economic difficulties facing both publishers and marketers, the Liz Claiborne Inc.-owned denim maker has eliminated its magazine ad budget this season. Instead, Lucky Brand is focusing on the Internet and store events to raise awareness for the brand. The Michael Bernard-lensed images of Richards, who is the daughter of Rolling Stone Keith Richards and model Patti Hansen, and Taylor, the son of musicians James Taylor and Carly Simon, will go up on the Lucky Brand Web site when the campaign launches around Valentine's Day. Apart from their celebrity genes, Taylor is a musician in his own right, and Richards is a DJ, model and fixture on Manhattan's social scene. Photos, videos and biographies of the two will be sprinkled throughout the site, and the duo become part of the brand's Lucky Few marketing theme - which began this past fall and features young creative talents from the worlds of art, music and social activism. The new campaign will also go up in Lucky Brand's 180
retail stores, which the company is placing a renewed focus on as a marketing tool. "We want to become the neighborhood jeans store again," explained Kristin Patrick, vice president of global brand marketing at Lucky Brand. "Beginning this spring, we are going to have more events at our stores featuring local musicians and artists. And we're going to do small things like have a bowl of water for dogs outside our door. We are such an optimistic brand, and we want that to show, because everyone could use a little optimism these days." While pooches may be satiated by Lucky Brand's new marketing tactics, the company's recent magazine partners are likely thirsty for ads. This past fall, the brand's advertising buy included Vogue, Vanity Fair, Rolling Stone, Details, In Style, Paper and Fader, among other titles. Patrick said the elimination of print this spring was likely temporary. "Magazines will always be relevant. We are just trying something new this season." - David Lipke

I don't quite know how to do this, cause I've never had a blog before. This is my premiere!
So, I guess I'll start right here and write whatever comes to my mind.
I was inspired to start a blog by some wonderful people whom I got to know on http://www.thefashionspot.com
and I thought 'Wow, doesn't sound too bad having your own fashion blog so you can express your feelings and view on it all. To express yourself and to learn how to write about fashion, models, photography designers and fashion shows.....'
And that's what I want to to. I want to express myself through writing about it, share photos, news and views.
I don't want to make this too long now, so I just hope you will enjoy your stay and find one or the other treat.
